Q. Can you tell me more about the organizations Cosmos has partnered with?
A Christian based organization, Nazareth Trust has been going strong for over 150 years. It started as a small clinic with 4 beds and has grown into Nazareth’s General Hospital which now sits on 25 acres on the Nazarene hillside since 1906. In addition to the hospital, there is also a School of Nursing and the amazing ‘Nazareth Village’ where the locals reenact what life was like in the time of the New Testament. Established in 1788, Pantry Packers is the food distribution center of one of the oldest operating network of social services in Israel. The food baskets created contain non-perishable household food items, potatoes and root vegetables, as well as other consumables that are needed for an entire month. Their 90 minute hands-on volunteer activity includes an orientation and short video. The activity consists of filling bags of rice, beans and other commodities which are destined for needy families throughout Israel. To learn more about Pantry Packers please visit pantrypackers.org.
