Vacation Overview

Meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers in Rome, then travel to Florence, “Cradle of the Renaissance,” for a guided walking tour. Visit the Santa Croce Basilica with Michelangelo’s tomb and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore. An optional excursion to the Uffizi Gallery is available. Next is Siena, where you will attend Mass at St. Catherine’s Sanctuary, then a walking tour with your Local Guide. On to Assisi, home of mystical St. Francis. Attend early morning Mass in the Lower Basilica, then enjoy a guided visit of the Basilica of St. Francis. Also visit the Church of St. Clare and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Cappella del Transito, where the Saint died in 1226. Return to Rome and attend the Papal Audience (subject to availability). Guided sightseeing includes visits to St. Peter’s Square and Basilica, and the Roman Forum and Colosseum. An optional visit to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel is available. Attend Mass at the Basilica of St. John Lateran, with a guided visit of this magnificent church. Also visit the papal sanctuary of the Holy Stairs, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and the burial place of St. Paul the Apostle.
